Many elders in Connecticut are unable to take care of themselves and are sometimes abused or exploited. Connecticut’s Department of Social Services are responsible for protecting elders over the age of 60 from abuse, neglect and/or exploitation.

Certain medical professionals, members of law enforcement and nursing home staff are required by law to report any suspicion of elder abuse immediately.
