<h5>Elder Abuse Explained</h5>
<p>Every year, thousands of adults are abused, neglected or exploited by individuals that the abused adult likely knows and trust.  Many of these abused adults in Oklahoma are elderly, and are incapable mentally and/or physically of taking care of themselves.</p>
<p>There are many physical and behavioral signs you can look out for to help stop elder abuse from occurring in Oklahoma.  The most common signs of abuse are:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Physical Signs:</strong>
<ul>
<li>Malnutrition and/or dehydration</li>
<li>Injuries that are not properly or immediately cared for</li>
<li>Bruises or burn marks</li>
<li>Poor or inadequate explanation for illnesses or injuries</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li><strong>Emotional Signs:</strong>
<ul>
<li>Frequent feelings of depression or anxiety</li>
<li>Constant feelings of anger or fear</li>
<li>Isolation</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li><strong>Financial Signs:</strong>
<ul>
<li>Life style does not match with bank transactions</li>
<li>Caregiver only expressing interest in financial matters</li>
<li>Unpaid bills</li>
<li>Money, credit cards or checks go missing</li>
</ul>
