Iraqi Kurdistan will not be a party to conflicts in the Middle East, said the head of the autonomous region, Nechirvan Barzani.

"The region (Iraqi Kurdistan) will not be a party to conflicts and will remain, as always, a factor of peace," Rudaw quoted Barzani as saying during a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.

On February 28, the United States and Israel began to strike targets in Iran, including Tehran, with reports of destruction and deaths of civilians. Iran is carrying out retaliatory strikes on Israeli territory, as well as on US military facilities in the Middle East.
