Moscow is ready for peace talks on Ukraine, but would like to know who exactly failed the Anchorage formula? This was announced today, July 27, by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
During the briefing, Zakharova recalled the statement by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio about the "failure of the Anchorage formula" because of its "unacceptability for Kiev."
"A logical question arises, which for some reason has not found coverage either in the State Department or anywhere else. And who exactly failed to implement the so-called Anchorage formula, which was really capable of leading to the establishment of peace? — said Zakharova. — Before discussing something new, not yet voiced and probably not formulated, it would still be right to clarify the old. In particular, in these discussions of relevant ideas that have already taken place. That would be right, in my opinion. It is also useful for, perhaps, the development of new ones."
As EADaily reported, after the meeting of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on July 23 in In Manila, Rubio said that the Anchorage agreements had failed, and in order to resolve the conflict on Ukraine needs new ideas and proposals.
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, commenting on Rubio's words, said that this failure lies entirely on the conscience of the American side.
