The head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, "accomplished a feat that seemed impossible a year ago: he convinced Washington that Kiev could win the war," writes Politico on July 29.

"Unlike Zelensky's painful visit to the Oval Office in February 2025, he left the meeting with President Donald Trump in high spirits. He ended his trip with another victory, watching as the Senate overwhelmingly approved the promotion of new sanctions against countries that buy Russian oil. This success capped a day that marked a striking turnaround from Zelensky's previous failed visit. The vote, which the Ukrainian leader watched from the gallery in the Senate hall, brings Congress closer to the realization of one of Zelensky's main tasks. This was another signal that Kiev's affairs are improving not only on the battlefield,"the publication claims.

It is also noted that the recent turn in the political fate of Kiev includes the sudden support from some loyalists of the MAGA movement.

"In particular, this is conservative influencer Laura Loomer, who changed her previous active support for Russia after a recent visit to Kiev," the publication says.
