The Polish Defense Ministry confirmed that a Russian X-101 missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads fell in the Lublin region. This was announced this evening by Deputy Defense Minister Cesary Tomchik.
"I spoke with the operational commander (of the Armed Forces), General Novak, and we can confirm with full responsibility that it was a Russian X-101 missile ... that is, a cruise missile capable of carrying even nuclear warheads, which exploded on impact with the ground. A potentially very dangerous missile," Tomchik said in an interview with TVN24.
According to Tomchik, "Russians usually attack with ten or twenty missiles," and in this case we were talking about 70 missiles, of which at 03.00 last night 20 missiles allegedly flew towards Poland.
The missile entered Polish airspace on Wednesday night during a large-scale attack on Ukraine, including Lviv. Polish F-16 fighters were sent to intercept.
"On Thursday at 03.40 am, an unidentified object was detected in Polish airspace. The F-16 fighter was sent for reconnaissance and interception. At 03.46 am the object disappeared. The district Prosecutor's office in Lublin, investigating the case, said in the afternoon that it was most likely a rocket marked X-101 containing explosives "in significant quantities."
