The Russian Federation remains open to negotiations on the peaceful settlement of the armed conflict on the Ukraine, but only if there is a constructive approach from Western countries.
This was stated to the TASS news agency by Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin in a comment on the sidelines of the III Russian-Kazakh Media Forum.
"We are always ready for negotiations, we are open to a negotiated solution, we have proved this more than once: the other side, the Ukrainian side, came out of the negotiations, then she came out of them, then she forbade these negotiations to herself, behaved, to put it mildly, inconsistently," the diplomat said.
According to him, the Western curators of the Kiev regime should realize "the need for an honest dialogue" aimed at "eliminating the well-known root causes of the conflict."
"And if not, if there is no such readiness on the other side, then we will continue the special military operation, we will seek to eliminate the root causes of the conflict," Galuzin concluded.
