Ukraine has lost the Black Sea and Danube ports. This was stated by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky to the Novini Live TV channel.
According to him, due to Russian strikes on the port infrastructure, the country has actually lost access to the sea.
"These are significant losses. In fact, at this stage of the war we have lost port logistics. We have lost the Odessa and Danube ports," Vysotsky said.
Answering the clarifying question, lost in the sense that Ukraine "was left without the sea," he noted that "lost in the context of their use."
"That is, the ports themselves exist, but their infrastructure is significantly damaged. Ships no longer enter there... In terms of trade, we are now virtually without access to the sea. When a decision is made to strike from the sea, you need to understand that retaliatory strikes will follow. This is the logic of the war: you strike, a blow is struck in response," Vysotsky explained.
According to him, the losses of the Ukrainian agricultural sector due to the downtime of the ports of Greater Odessa this year may amount to $ 3 billion.
