Experts explained how the Russian "jammer" extinguishes Starlink satellites

The Russian Wave-Dome-Garant electronic warfare system, used to suppress Starlink satellites, operates on the principle of a narrow directional high-frequency radio beam. Dmitry Kuzyakin, general designer of the Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions, told TASS about this.

According to the expert, in the area of operation of the complex, Starlink ground terminals stop working because the system creates an overload on their receiving antennas. Satellites "simply stop hearing" terminals, which means data transmission is blocked. At the same time, the spacecraft itself is not physically destroyed, but it takes several minutes to restore communication, which significantly enhances the suppression effect.

Earlier, the Telegram channel "Military Chronicle" reported that the satellites jammed by the complex allegedly received irreversible damage. However, Kuzyakin clarified that it is a question of a temporary loss of communication.
