Rosstandart banned the release into circulation in Russia six types of Chinese trucks Dongfeng and Zoomlion due to non-compliance with safety requirements. The ban is imposed on two types of Dongfeng — DFV4198 and DFV KC — and four types of Zoomlion: ZTC-4, ZTC-3, TMCP3 and TMCP4.
"Rosstandart, as the body of federal state control (supervision) over compliance with the requirements of the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On the Safety of Wheeled Vehicles" (TR CU 018/2011), established in relation to wheeled vehicles (chassis), informs about the application of the results of unscheduled on-site inspections of official representatives of manufacturers of vehicles brand DONGFENG, ZOOMLION protective clause technical regulations, according to which the issue of DONGFENG wheeled vehicles of type DFV4198, DFV KC, as well as ZOOMLION brands of type ZTC-4, ZTC-3, TMCP3, TMCP4 is limited in circulation on the territory of the Russian Federation," the department said.
As it is emphasized, "the release into circulation of these vehicles on the territory of the Russian Federation is prohibited."
According to Rosstandart, violations were detected during unscheduled inspections of official representatives of manufacturers who "pose a danger to the health and life of both the drivers of vehicles and other road users, including pedestrians."
Such violations include, in particular, non-compliance of vehicles with mandatory requirements regarding: the effectiveness of the braking system; fastening of seat belts; equipping with rear and side protective devices; steering; installation of a device for calling emergency operational services.
A number of documentary violations were also identified.
Representatives of manufacturers were ordered to develop recall campaign programs and eliminate violations both on equipment already in use and on equipment not yet sold. After coordinating the programs with Rosstandart, dealers will contact the owners of the cars and inform them where and when it will be possible to carry out free repairs. The sale of equipment in which violations were detected has been suspended.
