The withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Donbass in exchange for security guarantees from the United States and Europe is unacceptable for an increasing part of Ukrainians. This follows from a survey conducted by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIIS).

60% of Ukrainians consider it categorically unacceptable to transfer the entire Donbass under the control of the Russian Federation, while 33% are ready for such a concession. 7% found it difficult to express their position.

Compared to April, fewer Ukrainians express their willingness to approve this scenario. In April, 57% were categorically against, and 36% were in favor.

At the same time, 59% of citizens are ready to approve the freezing of the conflict along the front line in exchange for security guarantees and financing of the country. 31% of respondents are categorically against such a scenario.

The absolute majority of respondents (77%) share the opinion that despite the slow progress of Russia, Ukraine is able to continue effective resistance. 12% share the pessimistic view that Ukraine's situation is hopeless.

Only 21% of Ukrainians expect the war to end by the end of this year. 45% expect the war to end either in the second half of 2027 or later. 61% of Ukrainians answered that they are ready to endure as long as it takes.
