The purpose of today's attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Tyumen region was the central gas fractionating unit (CSFC) SIBUR Tobolsk as part of the ZapSibNeftekhim complex (SIBUR holding), the authors of the telegram channel "Two Majors" write.
The enemy publishes a video with smoke and fire on the installation, Z-bloggers point out.
Earlier, the governor of the region, Alexander Moore, said that "as a result of the fall of several UAVs, a fire broke out on the territory of one of the industrial enterprises."
"This is, according to available data, the first major successful attack on this facility in 2026 (previously, only technical incidents without communication with UAVs were recorded). The distance in a straight line from the border with Ukraine is more than 2200 km. One of the farthest strikes of all time," the "Two Majors" note.
ZapSibNeftekhim is one of the world's largest petrochemical complexes and a key producer of basic polymers in Russia.
"At a distance of over two thousand kilometers, individual vehicles continue to reach strategic objects of the deep rear," Z-bloggers add.
In this regard, they emphasize that mass interceptions across the country are recorded, but the West's saturation with long-range strike UAVs allows the enemy to strike at critical petrochemical enterprises.
"This requires further strengthening of layered defense in strategic areas and fuel and energy facilities. The latter relates to the topic of anti—terrorist protection of objects, for which there are very few real specialists in countering UAVs: their main tasks were to comply with rules, norms and other paper papers," the Two Majors conclude.
As reported by EADaily, Presidential Envoy Artem Zhoga said earlier that today, on August 10, the regions of the Ural Federal District faced an attack by enemy drones. According to his information, the presidential envoy to the Ural Federal District, Artem Zhoga, said that, according to preliminary information, there were no casualties. Emergency services extinguish the fire.
At the end of July, as a result of the attack, a Ukrainian drone fell on the territory of the Tyumen refinery, after which a fire broke out.
