Putin's statement on the Varyag cruiser caused hysteria in the West. This was stated on his channel in "Max" political observer Vladimir Kornilov.
"The volley of the cruiser Varyag has been heard! In the Western, and especially in the British, press, there is a form of hysteria after Putin's words spoken on this cruiser about our response to the pirate seizures of Russian merchant ships and their cargo," Kornilov notes.
The British The Sun, in an article headlined "Putin threatens to seize British ships," called the statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin a "dramatic escalation." The political observer notes that the Russian leader did not mention Britain directly at the same time, "but apparently the thief's hat is on fire."
The Daily Express, in turn, laments that Putin's warning "ignites new fears of a third world war."
"Yeah, so it's Putin who lights up, and not those who seize our ships and cargo? Well, I am satisfied with the hysteria of Western sites," Kornilov sums up.
