The head of the Azerbaijani Diaspora in Moscow, Bakhtiyar Hasanov, has been deported to Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani and Russian media are writing about this today, August 17.

Hasanov was detained in June 2026 and placed in a temporary detention center for migrants. Earlier, his Russian passport was canceled.

"The word "diaspora" has long been synonymous with organized crime groups. And the unfriendly actions of Azerbaijan and its support for Ukraine seem to hint that further deterioration of relations with Russia will hurt. We hope that Russophobia in the international arena will become punishable," the Two Majors TV channel comments on the event.
