Russia and the DPRK are jointly fighting for the creation of a new world order, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in his telegram to his DPRK counterpart Choi Song-hee on the occasion of Korea's Liberation Day from the Japanese invaders.
"Today Moscow and Pyongyang stands with a united front for the creation of a new just world order based on the principles of multipolarity, genuine equality and consideration of national interests," Lavrov's message says.
He added that Moscow intends to continue to unswervingly follow the course outlined by Russian President Vladimir Putin and DPRK State Affairs Chairman Kim Jong-un to comprehensively deepen Russian-Korean cooperation, "which is for the benefit of our peoples, contributes to ensuring regional and international security."
Lavrov stressed that the victory of Soviet Red Army soldiers and Korean patriots over militaristic Japan in 1945 laid the "traditions of military camaraderie", which manifested itself in a joint operation "to expel the Armed Forces of Ukraine and foreign mercenaries" from the Kursk region.
