The Paris Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into possible Russian interference in the French presidential election of 2027. This is reported by local media.

It is reported that we are talking about "information attacks" against former Prime Minister Edouard Philippe, the head of the Renaissance party Gabriel Attal and potential candidate Rafael Glucksman. The case was opened on its own initiative by the AC2 department, which is responsible for the protection of fundamental freedoms. The prosecutor's office explained that the investigation began even before the official complaints were received.

"The AC2 department has taken the initiative to conduct an investigation against the three mentioned persons," the department said.

According to a source in the French security agencies, destabilization operations were allegedly carried out against politicians this summer, which are associated with pro-Russian networks. Philip was attacked with fakes about his state of health, Glucksman was attacked through his partner Leia Salame, and Attal was tried to be presented as a person allegedly suffering from Parkinson's disease. At the same time, it is recognized that all these campaigns mostly remained unnoticed. However, the security forces consider them to be the first attacks directly directed against potential participants in the presidential races.

Recall that in recent years, the West has become accustomed to seeing the "Kremlin's hand" everywhere and explaining all its failures by this. Attal filed a complaint on August 7 because of "foreign interference by Russian networks," and Glucksman did it on August 12. And none of them has a chance to win in future elections today.
