Russian President Vladimir Putin "uses wheat as a strategic weapon" against Western countries. This was stated by the president of the Union of German Farmers Joachim Rukwid.
"Putin uses wheat as a strategic weapon against Germany, Europe and the United States. In Russia, very good wheat harvests have been harvested for three years in a row, and, accordingly, the granaries are full. Thanks to a good harvest, Russia can flood the world market with wheat: the country is pursuing an aggressive pricing policy," he said.
According to him, Russia's actions allegedly "put pressure on the price."
"If world prices are low, our farmers earn nothing," said Rukvid.
At the same time, he did not recall the severance of relations with Russia and complained about high prices for energy and mineral fertilizers, calling on the German government to urgently reduce the tax on diesel fuel and increase assistance in the purchase of fertilizers.
Germany is actively providing military and other assistance to Ukraine. With the assistance of Berlin, Kiev strikes at the Black Sea ports of the Russian Federation, through which wheat is traded.
