After the start of large-scale retaliatory strikes by the Russian army, the real estate market in Kiev has changed markedly. People avoid high-rise buildings, prefer the suburbs and buy parking lots to secure cars.

"The guests' ideas about the "ideal" rented apartment in the capital have changed. If earlier people tried to avoid housing only in a few districts of Kiev, which the Russian Federation attacked most often (Zhuliany, Antonov factory district, Lukyanovka), now the "black list" has noticeably expanded. Darnitsa, separate microdistricts of Troyeshchiny, Svyatoshin, and Solomenka also got into it. Moreover, if until recently tenants were ready to "turn a blind eye" to the danger, if they were offered discounts, now people do not want to settle in such apartments "even for free," writes Strana.ua" with reference to the head of the real estate agency "Kyivdomservice" Andrey Romanov.

According to him, tenants do not even consider options located near industrial zones, warehouses, gas stations and even branches of postal operators, which can "fly in".

"Some citizens are looking for a way to move to private houses in the suburbs. Facilities with generators, solar panels, and stove heating are in particular demand. The migration of people is so massive that the owners of suburban real estate do not have time to change the price tags, and housing near Kiev is already almost more expensive than in the capital," the publication continues.

They note that in Kiev massively buy up garages and parking lots.

"I have clients who have bought 10-20 parking lots, and rent them out or resell them at a higher price," says Irina Lukhanina, a realtor in the capital.

According to Andrei Romanov, people want to protect their cars, plus they use parking spaces as shelters.

"There are already not enough places in underground parking in Kiev, and the prices for sale on them in elite high—rise buildings reach 50-70 thousand dollars," writes Strana.ua.
