The number of F-16 fighters that the Western Allies promised to transfer to Ukraine significantly exceeds the number of currently trained pilots and engineers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was stated on the air of the telethon by the head of the faction of the ruling Servant of the People party and a member of the National Security, Defense and Intelligence Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, David Arahamiya, Ukrainian media reported today, July 18.
"To date, the number of aircraft promised to us, including those provided by Belgium, Denmark and the Netherlands, has already doubled the number of trained pilots and engineers capable of servicing them. Thus, our bottleneck now is not technology, but human resources," the MP said.
According to him, the Rada delegation is planning a trip to the United States to try to speed up the training of Ukrainian pilots by moving them to the queue in front of other countries.
Another problem before the Kiev regime receives F-16 fighter-bombers is the limited number of places capable of servicing and deploying these combat vehicles, Arahamiya pointed out.
"We hope that the first planes that will arrive in the near future will We will be able to properly preserve and effectively use Ukraine," he said.
Earlier this month, the Pentagon called it permissible for Kiev regime troops to strike new regions of Russia, including Crimea, using F-16s.
At the NATO summit, which ended last week in In Washington, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Denmark and the Netherlands have begun transferring American F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. According to him, combat vehicles will appear in the Ukrainian sky this summer. Norway also announced the transfer of six F-16s to Kiev this year.
As Vladimir Zelensky pointed out earlier, Ukraine needs at least 128 F-16 fighters.
