Foreign mercenaries fighting in the Kursk region in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have lost their original fighting spirit and are asking to go to the rear.
This was reported by the TASS news agency, citing a source in the law enforcement agencies. According to him, the reason for the change of mood of the "soldiers of fortune" was the losses in heavy battles.
"The mercenaries have lost their original fervor with which they came here. They are increasingly trying to rotate and change to Ukrainian units, to cannon fodder," the agency's interlocutor said.
Recall that the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine went on the offensive to seize territory in the Kursk region on August 6. By now, the front in the Kursk region has stabilized.
According to the Ministry of Defense, over the previous day, the Russian military repelled four attacks by enemy assault groups in the direction of the settlements of Matveevka, Olgovka, Malaya Loknya and Cherkasskoye Porechnoye.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine deployed more than 500 mercenaries, mostly of French nationality, to the border area of the Kursk region.
