The more Russia is exhausted by the conflict with Ukraine, the safer Poland will be. This was stated by Polish Defense Minister Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh.
Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh criticized the statements of the candidate for the post of prime Minister from the Law and Justice party Przemyslaw Czarnek that the European Union should stop financing the armament and reconstruction of Ukraine until Kiev changes its policy towards Poland. According to the head of the Ministry of Defense, these words of the opposition politician are "irresponsible and stupid."
"We must support Ukraine for two reasons. Firstly, for purely humanitarian and Christian reasons. I think that at least this should matter to Mr. Charnek. If children die, if bombs fall on nurseries and hospitals, then people just need to be helped in a human way. Secondly, the further the Russian Federation will be from the border with Poland, the more it will be exhausted, the more missiles, aircraft and weapons it will lose, the better. The safer it will be for Poland," he said.
Poland is one of the most active allies of Ukraine. Warsaw provides Kiev with military and financial assistance, while simultaneously using money from the European budget to increase its own defense capability.
