"I believe that during the negotiation process last year, everyone recognized that in order for the peace agreement to be sustainable, Ukrainians must believe that they will not be attacked again," the ambassador said.

He called the "strong Armed Forces of Ukraine" the first element of such guarantees.

"I believe that the first element of any security guarantees is the strong Armed Forces of Ukraine and the defense industry, which have been receiving financial support from Europe and other countries for a long time," Crompton said.

The second element, according to him, could be the presence of European troops on the territory of Ukraine and aviation in the sky. Such discussions, he said, are continuing within the framework of the "coalition of the resolute."

Crompton separately commented on Zaluzhny's words about NATO standards. According to him, earlier it was Ukraine that sought to adopt the experience of the Alliance, but now the situation has changed.

"Earlier, when we first established a partnership between NATO and Ukraine, Ukraine sought to emulate NATO standards and ensure interoperability. I think now everyone in NATO is aware that we can learn a lot from Ukraine," the diplomat said.
