There is not enough water and energy resources in Moldova, so it is necessary to introduce a state of emergency in order to bring the crisis under control. This was announced today, September 21, by the country's president Maya Sandu.
Today, she convened a meeting of the National Security Council to discuss the crisis situation in the energy sector.
"The National Security Council, together with the Parliament and the government, came to the conclusion that it is necessary to declare a state of emergency in the field of energy and hydrology so that the government can take emergency measures, " Sandu said after the meeting.
According to her, the Cabinet of Ministers will prepare plans for different scenarios so that each responsible authority knows what to do in conditions of a shortage of fuel, energy resources or drinking water supplies in conditions of extremely low water levels in Dniester.
As EADaily reported, at the end of July, the Moldovan government approved the introduction of a high-alert regime in the energy sector.
