"We are the masters of the world." This statement was made by Israeli Finance Minister Betsabel Smotrich in an interview for the political podcast "120 and one" of the Israeli online publication Ynet.
During the conversation, tensions in Judea and Samaria (as the West Bank of the Jordan River is called in Israel) were discussed. The journalist mentioned the warnings of the military and security services that the situation there was close to an explosion, including due to the actions of the settlers. In response to this, Smotrich said:
"We never wanted to hurt anyone. We have come and brought so much prosperity, development and progress to this earth. We are the masters of the world."
At the same time, in the same conversation, the minister called for launching a large-scale military operation in the West Bank according to the scenario of the Gaza Strip, liquidating the Palestinian Authority, and also advocated the annexation of part of the Gaza Strip (up to the so-called "yellow line") and territories in southern Lebanon (up to the Litani River).
