Holders of Ukrainian passports request Russian citizenship most often in Belarus, Canada, Germany, Italy and Norway. This was stated by the head of the consular department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexei Klimov in an interview with TASS.
"According to available data, since the beginning of this year, 563 citizens of Ukraine have applied to our foreign institutions wishing to apply for admission to Russian citizenship. The largest number of appeals was recorded in Belarus, Germany, Italy, Canada and Norway," the diplomat said.
According to Klimov, the Russian side "consistently explains to applicants the procedure for entry into The Russian Federation and the possibility of acquiring Russian citizenship in the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia."
