Kirill Dmitriev, the special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for economic cooperation with foreign countries, said that the conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump caused panic in the "deep state" of the West and the media controlled by it.
"Yesterday's phone conversation was constructive. This caused a predictable panic on the part of the deep state of the West and the media controlled by it. It is precisely such signals about the possibility of dialogue and de-escalation that violate their usual pattern of work based on lies and confrontation. Any prospect of dialogue and cooperation is perceived by them as a direct threat to a system built on controlled instability," Dmitriev said.
He added that it is cooperation, not confrontation, that serves the real interests of most countries of the world and contributes to strengthening global security.
On June 4, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump had a telephone conversation. Following its results, Trump said that "it was a good conversation, but not the kind of conversation that will lead to immediate peace." Putin warned him about the response to Kiev's recent attacks on Russian airfields.
