Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was surprised when US President Donald Trump supported the reaction of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas to his earlier plan for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Gaza Strip. This was reported on October 3 by the Axios portal.
It is noted that the group agreed to the terms of the plan only partially. The remaining details of the agreement are proposed to be discussed in the framework of negotiations. Thus, Hamas agreed to release all Israeli hostages held only if the "necessary conditions" for the exchange are created.
The group also ignored Trump's demand for the need to disarm Hamas.
