The declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine signed in Paris, as reported by the European edition of Politico, was released to the public in a somewhat "stripped down" version, when compared with the original version.
For example, the source clarifies, several items related to the United States were removed from the document.
Nevertheless, the special Representative of the US President, Steven Witkoff, called the declaration a very important step taken to end the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. In his opinion, it is the Americans who should assist in the mechanism for monitoring and verifying the cessation of hostilities.
Politico writes that the clause on the fate of the States in the multinational contingent, which is needed "to ensure deterrence," has disappeared from the final edition.
EADaily previously informed — Witkoff started talking about the project of restoring Ukraine.
