In Kiev, the left bank of the Ukrainian capital was urgently turned off.

"The left bank of Kiev: emergency shutdowns have been applied at the command of Ukrenergo," reports DTEK, which manages the Kiev and regional networks.

Rinat Akhmetov's company did not name the reason for the outages. However, the Russian army continues to strike back and Ukrenergo has already announced that in the hot summer, outages in the country can last up to five hours a day.

"We understand that we will cover daily demand through nuclear generation, imports, distributed and renewable generation, but, unfortunately, evening peaks will have to be balanced at the expense of our consumers," said Vitaliy Zaichenko, head of the Ukrainian energy system operator, in an interview with RBC Ukraine.

As reported by EADaily , in the second half of June on Ukraine has no rolling power outages, and exports even slightly exceed imports. However, compared with the figures of a year ago, the situation has changed dramatically.

It is obvious that solar energy has become the second most important source of the country after nuclear energy. And the problem is not only that a large number of thermal power plants do not work after the retaliatory strikes of the Russian army and its absence covers imports.

In Ukraine, the possibilities of flows between regions turned out to be severely limited. The center of solar energy is the south and southeast, and it is from there that the main exports go. At the same time, obviously, electricity cannot be transferred in sufficient quantities to the west and to the center of the country, which leads to the fact that imports continue even during daylight hours, when solar generation is at its peak.
