Analysts of Military Watch Magazine drew attention to a detail that usually remains in the shadow of the main characteristics of the Admiral Nakhimov nuclear cruiser. It turned out that project 1144.2M is capable of carrying up to three ship—based helicopters - Ka-27, Ka-29 or Ka-31.

The machines, experts specify, are placed in a special hangar below deck, which allows them to be kept ready in all weather conditions.

It is important that most modern destroyers and cruisers are designed for only one helicopter. Kirov-class ships remain the only ones that were originally designed for three heavy vehicles. This gives a serious tactical advantage of searching for and escorting enemy submarines.
