Romanian military divers have destroyed two drones in the area of the Neptun Deep gas field in the Black Sea, acting Defense Minister Radu Mirutse said.
"The devices were noticed by the crew of one of the vessels performing work in the area of the Neptun Deep gas field. The drones were destroyed in the afternoon by divers of the Romanian army at a distance of about 90 nautical miles from Constanta," the press service of the department quotes him.
They noted that, in addition to the drifting drones themselves, other wreckage of drones was found on the surface of the water.
Neptun Deep is the largest undeveloped gas field in the Romanian sector of the Black Sea with reserves of about 100 billion cubic meters of gas. The launch of production on it is scheduled for 2027.
