Switzerland violates the norms of international law and crosses out its neutral status. This is how RIA Novosti commented on the increase in the amount of frozen Russian assets in Switzerland at the Russian Embassy in Bern.
"Bern directly violates the norms of international law by adopting illegitimate restrictions of the EU. His approach negates the neutral status of Switzerland," the diplomatic mission said.
As reported by EADaily, over the year the amount of frozen private Russian assets in the country has grown by more than a billion francs. So, at the moment, in addition to real estate and art, financial assets worth 8.5 billion Swiss francs have been frozen. At the same time, a year ago this amount amounted to 7.4 billion francs.
