Armenia formalizes military cooperation with Poland

Armenia is formalizing military-technical cooperation with Poland. The Government of the country has approved a draft law on ratification of the agreement between the Ministries of Defense of Armenia and Poland. The draft law is included in a package of documents that are not subject to public review at the meeting and published on the government's website.

The draft decision emphasizes that Armenia attaches great importance to the further development of relations with Poland in the field of defense. The purpose of the agreement is to establish the basic principles and procedures for cooperation between the parties in the military-technical field.

"The ratification of the agreement fully corresponds to the strategic interests of the Republic of Armenia, and its implementation provides an opportunity to expand international cooperation", the draft decision reads.

In the substantiation of the document, it is proposed to approve the government's legislative initiative on the draft law on ratification of the agreement signed in Warsaw on February 26, 2026.

"If the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia decides to recognize the obligations enshrined in the international treaty as corresponding to the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, submit the legislative initiative of the Government of the Republic of Armenia to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia in accordance with the established procedure, " the document says.

On February 26, within the framework of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's visit to Warsaw, Armenia and Poland has signed an agreement on military-technical cooperation.
