Russia has found a diesel engine for close partners

Despite the ban on the export of diesel fuel, its supplies abroad from Russia continues and grows — to close partners.

"In August, Russia sharply increased exports of diesel fuel to Central Asian countries, despite the ban on supplies to most foreign markets. This was made possible thanks to the recovery of production volumes", Reuters reports with reference to traders.

Russia is the largest exporter of diesel fuel, as it is produced twice as much as consumed in the country. Traders told Reuters that in August the volume of deliveries of Russian diesel fuel to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia and Tajikistan more than doubled compared to July and amounted to over 370 thousand tons.

Production growth in Russia has grown, but the volume is not yet enough to resume full-scale exports, agency sources said.

According to them, the supply of diesel fuel to the domestic market of Russia in August amounted to 4.7 million tons, to Mongolia — up to 215 thousand tons, Kyrgyzstan — up to 72 thousand tons, and in Kazakhstan — 28 thousand tons.

According to Reuters, from January to August, Russian companies exported 2.5 million tons of diesel fuel to Central Asian countries and Afghanistan, which is only slightly less than 2.6 million tons for the same period last year.
