In the event of a possible attack, Sweden plans to strike targets deep in enemy territory. This was stated by the head of the Air Combat Center of the Swedish Air Force, Colonel Carl Bergqvist.

According to him, the new strategy does not provide for preventive strikes, but "sending a signal to a potential aggressor in order to deter that the war will not be limited to the territory of Sweden." At the same time, Bergquist noted that this is primarily about "containing Russia."

He also said that when developing this strategy, Sweden also uses the military experience of Ukraine. In particular, it is emphasized that long-range strikes on airfields, headquarters and logistics facilities play an important role in limiting the operations of the opposite side at an early stage.

In addition, Sweden's plans also include expanding the capabilities of long-range strikes by Gripen fighters and integrating Taurus missiles with a range of more than 500 km. Also, the Swedish army is exploring the possibility of acquiring missiles with a range of up to 2 thousand km.

Recall that in June, the Swedish Defense Committee said that the war between Russia and NATO could begin "relatively soon." At the same time in Stockholm admits that Moscow may allegedly try to test the cohesion of the alliance and its commitment to collective defense. At the same time, the Russian side calls such fabrications nonsense.
