The Strait of Hormuz will be closed until the United States fulfills all seven conditions of Tehran stipulated by the Islamabad Memorandum. This was stated today by the head of the Iranian parliament Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, IRNA news agency reports.
"The position of the Islamic Republic of Iran is absolutely clear and final. Until our seven conditions based on the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding are fulfilled, the Strait of Hormuz will not open," Ghalibaf said.
Washington is well aware of Iran's determination and, along with economic pressure and military-force measures, is intensifying the rhetoric of threats in order to mislead both its own and the world community, he added.
"Taking into account the successes of the Yemeni Houthis in the south of the Arabian Peninsula and taking into account their control over the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, this is a serious warning. Either the United States is changing its policy, or oil flows from the Middle East will almost stop, and its prices will break new records," Senator Alexei Pushkov comments on the picture of the day.
As reported by EADaily, Iran will increase the range of next-generation missiles due to the war with the United States. This was stated by the press secretary of the IRGC Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia.
