The import of bitumen to Armenia has been extremely problematic for the last month and a half, said Eduard Bezoyan, General Director of Chanapar.

According to him, there are no Russian supplies now, and the main raw materials come from Iran. The industry expects a large batch to resume large-scale work, the "Caucasian Bureau" reports.

At the same time, according to Bezoyan, Iranian bitumen is significantly inferior to Russian bitumen in quality. Only his company requires from 1 to 2 thousand tons of raw materials per month.

Earlier, Armenian media linked interruptions in road construction with the cessation of imports of Russian bitumen. The Armenian Ministry of Management and Infrastructures denied this information.
