To strike at Jaffa in Israel, the Hussites used a modified missile, possibly "semi-hypersonic," so it reached the target and was not intercepted by the Israeli air defense system. This was stated on the air of Channel 14 by military analyst Noam Amir, according to the Israel News telegram channel.
The enemy learns from mistakes and adapts his actions. All his accumulated experience eventually ends up in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Tehran, where experts are trying to find ways to bypass the Israeli air defense system, the expert noted.
"According to Amir, the enemy probably found a way to bypass the Israeli missile defense system, which explains the delay in activating the sirens and the failure of the interception. Apparently, the Houthis used a modified missile, possibly a "semi-hypersonic" one. Israeli systems make predictions about the trajectory of the rocket based on data on the launch point, angle and speed. However, the enemy managed to create a missile that violates this forecast," writes TK.
The main problem arises when the rocket goes beyond the atmosphere, the analyst explained. According to him, the Houthis have reduced the weight of the warhead and added an additional engine that turns on outside the atmosphere and changes the trajectory of the missile. This reduces the preliminary calculations of the protection system to nothing. By the time the system detects a new route of the rocket after its return to the atmosphere, there is little time to intercept. For this reason, the siren worked late, and the interceptors could not destroy the missile, Amir stressed.
Now it's a "battle of wits," he noted. Israeli defense enterprises and the Air Force are already actively exploring new enemy methods in order to find a solution and prevent similar cases in the future.
As reported the day before, Yemeni Hussites from the Ansar Allah movement struck an Israeli military facility near Tel Aviv with a hypersonic ballistic missile. This was stated by the representative of the armed forces formed by the rebels, Yahya Saria, TASS reported.
