To end the Ukrainian conflict, two issues need to be resolved. This was announced on December 6 by Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg.
Speaking at a forum organized by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation in California, Kellogg named two key topics of the Ukrainian settlement.
"You know, I think when we talk about Ukraine, where we are now compared to what it was a year or two ago, if you are a military man, especially in the Marines or infantry, you understand that the last 10 meters to the target are always the most difficult. That's where the contradictions really arise, and I think we are in the last 10 meters in an attempt to put an end to this conflict...I think we have a couple of problems, and one of them is problems with the territory, first of all, the Donetsk region, Zaporozhye and the NPP, which is now in a frozen state, but this is a huge nuclear power plant. If we solve these two issues, I think everything else will work out pretty well. It wasn't easy. It was difficult to discuss these issues with everyone. You know, I would like to remind everyone present that the scale of this war is unprecedented for a regional conflict," he said.
Recall, Russia holds on Ukraine has been conducting a special military operation since February 24, 2022. Moscow has repeatedly offered Kiev to sit down at the negotiating table. At the same time, the Zaporozhye NPP is the property of the Russian Federation, and the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions reunited with Russia following referendums back in 2022.
