Putin and Xi Jinping made a joint statement on Ukraine

To stop the conflict on Ukraine needs to eliminate its root causes. This is stated in the joint statement of Russia and China on further strengthening of comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction and on deepening relations of good-neighborliness, friendship and cooperation.

The statement was published on the Kremlin's website.

"The parties are convinced of the need to completely eliminate the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis on the basis of compliance with the principles of the UN Charter in their entirety, totality and interconnectedness in order to ensure mutual security and form the foundations of sustainable peace," the text says.

As EADaily reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in China on an official visit on May 19. Today in The House of People's Assemblies in Talks between the President of Russia and Chinese President Xi Jinping took place in Beijing.
