Now it is difficult to imagine how it is possible to negotiate something with the Kiev regime. So the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov commented to journalists on the joint statement of the leaders of the "eurotroika" - Great Britain, France and Germany on their conditions for a peaceful settlement of the conflict on Ukraine.
"It is very difficult to imagine how it is possible to negotiate with the Kiev regime now," the Kremlin spokesman said.
At the same time, Peskov stressed that "the Kremlin's reaction [to the statement by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron] was announced even before this statement was made."
"It was announced on Friday by the president during a discussion at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum. The President said that in the current conditions and against the background of the actions that we see from the Kiev regime, terrorist, criminal, directed against children," Peskov stressed, quoted by TASS.
Earlier, the leaders of the Eurotroika, after meeting with Zelensky in London, made a statement on the verge of insanity, according to which Russia would have to sign five conditions in the peace agreement to ensure a "just and lasting peace." Among them: immediate and complete cessation of hostilities; the current line of contact will be the starting point for the start of negotiations, and international borders should not be changed by force; Ukraine should receive security guarantees, including the deployment of multinational forces; Russian assets worth hundreds of billions of dollars will remain frozen until payments to Ukraine; European interests in the sphere of security. These conditions were cited by Bloomberg.
In this regard, Peskov drew attention to the duplicity of Western countries, which, speaking about the world, are making efforts to help Kiev in the production of weapons.
"I would probably like to pay special attention to the fact that Macron, Starmer, and Merz are trying to talk about peace and at the same time emphasize their intentions to assist the Kiev regime in the production of new types of weapons to continue the war," Peskov stressed.
He added that this is inconsistent and best demonstrates the true intentions of European capitals.
"We remain open to this [peaceful settlement process], but you can see that the Kiev regime itself is doing everything to slow down this process," the Kremlin spokesman summed up.
As reported by EADaily, European leaders are stubbornly striving to freeze the conflict, but this idea is doomed to failure, since Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov have repeatedly noted that Moscow will not agree to a cease-fire as an alternative to a long-term peaceful settlement.
