The Russian company Mechanical Protection Systems has developed an innovative Darwin-D canvas designed to cover highways and infrastructure facilities from drone attacks. According to TASS, the appearance of the novelty was a logical response to the initiative of the Ministry of Transport, which allowed spending road funds on the installation and restoration of protective structures.
The product is a modified trapping network adapted to the needs of transport workers. The width of the roll reaches 38 meters, and one set holds 6 thousand square meters of polyamide fabric weighing only 83 grams per "square".
In a collision with an FPV copter or an aircraft-type drone, the network stretches elastically, extinguishing kinetic energy and reducing the risk of detonation of the warhead. The design is able to effectively block the roadway with a width of up to 12 meters, creating a reliable barrier against air threats.
EADaily previously also informed that the Grads of the Russian Defense Ministry are now striking with a "fire carousel".
