The Pskov city court found guilty the deputy chairman of the Yabloko party, the former chairman of the Pskov regional branch of the party Lev Shlosberg❶❷ in the case of discrediting The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation sentenced him to imprisonment for a period of 11 years and 1 month.
"To finally impose punishment on Lev Markovich Shlosberg❶❷ in the form of imprisonment for a term of 11 years and 1 month to be served in a general regime colony," the judge announced during the announcement of the verdict, TASS reports.
Protection of Schlosberg❶❷ intends to appeal his sentence, according to the party's Telegram channel.
"The reasons for the initiation of cases were debates published on YouTube and one repost on Telegram," the report says.
The court also banned Shlosberg❶❷ engage in activities related to the administration of websites, forums, chat rooms and groups on the Internet for six years.
The 63-year-old politician himself pleaded not guilty.
On August 14, Prosecutor Anna Goryacheva asked the Pskov City Court to sentence Shlosberg❶❷ to 12 years and 1 month of imprisonment. He was accused of discrediting the use of The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code) and the dissemination of false information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (paragraph "d" of part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code).
