US President Donald Trump said that his representative Steve Witkoff will bring Russian President Vladimir Putin a proposal to end the war in Ukraine.
"They will carry with them a proposal to end the war. After all, I have already put an end to eight wars. I hope you are proud of me. I put an end to eight wars, but no one gives me credit for it," the US president said at a briefing on September 4.
Special envoy of the US President Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner will arrive in Moscow on Saturday, September 5, Bloomberg reported earlier.
Trump said he sees a "good chance" of a settlement.
The American president also said that Russia is not going to attack NATO countries. So he answered the question that Berlin accused Moscow of attempting a drone attack in Leipzig.
"I talked to Putin, I know him very well. Putin is not going to attack NATO territory," Trump said.
