FT: " Ukraine no longer has a steel industry". Will we believe it?

In Ukraine, the vast majority of steel industry facilities have been affected. This is reported by the Financial Times with reference to the chief of staff of the General Director of "Metinvest" holding, Alexander Vodoviz.

According to him, ballistic missile strikes were carried out on key production facilities of metal compounds, which paralyzed production.

" They knew everything about the plant, they knew exactly where to hit. Ballistic missiles were aimed at blast furnaces of three plants, including two owned by "Metinvest", and the ArcelorMittal plant in Krivoy Rog. Now we do not understand how long it will take to repair — days, weeks, months or years," Vodoviz said.

Taken together, these enterprises provided 90% of steel output in Ukraine, but after the strikes they were forced to stop their work.

" As of today, Ukraine no longer has a steel industry, " Alexander Vodoviz told FT.
