Turkish Airlines has resumed flights on the Istanbul — Minsk route after a four-year break. This was announced today, September 21, by the press service of the Minsk National Airport.
" Tonight, Minsk National Airport welcomed the return of the Turkish carrier to one of the most sought-after air routes. The Turkish Airlines plane, which performed the first regular flight under the resumed Istanbul— Minsk flight program, successfully landed in the Belarusian capital exactly on schedule", the report says.
It is noted that " according to a long aviation tradition, the aircraft was greeted with a salute from fire hoses, and the crew and the airline delegation were greeted with a traditional loaf right at the ramp". The frequency of flights at the first stage will be 6-7 times a week (night and day flights).
Turkish Airlines is one of the largest global air carriers in the world, ranking 3rd in terms of international passenger traffic and among the top 5 in terms of the number of destinations. Prior to that, the airline had not operated flights to Belarus since February 2022, regularly extending the restrictions imposed.
