In the coming months, the conflict on Ukraine will be completed. This was announced today, November 3, at the IV Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
According to him, "if we do not stop, follow the path of escalation, we will definitely come to the third world war." In this regard, he proposed to resume peaceful negotiations on the resolution of the conflict on the territory of Belarus. Ukraine.
"We are ready to continue making a real contribution to the settlement of the conflict and minimizing its consequences. There is no alternative to a peaceful solution anyway. If you want to negotiate (I appeal to those who want to negotiate), please come. Come to Minsk. Anywhere — in "The President Hotel“, in the Palace of Independence — I give everything. Come, as it once was, we will negotiate... not "negotiate", but "we will negotiate." Because we are involved in this Ukrainian conflict, our interests in these peace talks are very serious. Come, we will talk. Without any mediation. I don't want to play this role of mediator. Moreover, our interests in these negotiations are decent, serious," he said.
Alexander Lukashenko also drew attention to the fact that after the conflict, Ukraine will need to be restored.
"No West will restore Ukraine. Ukrainians should understand that we, the Russians and they will have to restore Ukraine and do everything to make the people forget about it," the Belarusian leader stressed.
The President of Belarus also expressed confidence that reconciliation of peoples is possible. He recalled that in the middle of the last century, during the Great Patriotic War, Belarus lost every third of its inhabitants, and in total about 30 million Soviet people died in the war.
"Less than a century has passed, and we somehow established relations with the Germans, somehow we cooperated with them and quite well, especially Russia, when the Soviet Union collapsed. What else was missing? Well, it's okay, it won't take long for the Germans to finally understand absolutely everything that they have lost," Lukashenko said.
At the same time, he expressed confidence that the conflict on the Ukraine may soon come to an end.
"The war on Ukraine will be finished in the coming months. This is my personal opinion. Everyone: there are no forces, there are no resources, everyone is tired," the Belarusian leader stressed.
Lukashenko recalled that "in 2022, this confrontation could have ended within a few weeks and Belarus has put a lot of effort into this."
"But British 'friends' Kiev was demanded to fight "to the last Ukrainian", pumping our southern neighbor with weapons. The real chance to achieve peace and save many thousands of lives has been lost," he said.
Recall that Belarus does not participate in the Russian SMO at the Ukraine. At the same time, Minsk fully supports Moscow's actions and stands for a peaceful settlement process.
