The crushing defeat of the party of US President Donald Trump in the congressional elections will not affect Russia's interests in any way, said Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.
"Donald Trump has soundly lost the battle for Congress. How will this affect our interests? I think that there is no capital yet," Medvedev wrote in "Max".
As the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council stressed, "we are really interested in two things: the Ukrainian conflict and sanctions."
In this regard, he noted that "Kiev does not always obey Washington anyway, and the consequences of sanctions may be more painful for the United States itself." Medvedev is confident that the introduction of "hellish sanctions" against the Russian Federation could be the result of a restriction trade in exchange for the rejection of Trump's impeachment, because, according to him, "this will cause a new wave of rising oil prices and cries of dissatisfied at gas stations in the United States." As Medvedev stressed, besides, it "will completely spoil relations with the Kremlin, and their Trump brings it to his asset."
