Russian president’s aide Vladislav Surkov has congratulated President of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov on the Day of Recognition of the State Independence of the South Ossetia Republic.
“South Ossetia has passed a serious path of post-war restoration, social and economic development, and state building. I am sure that with implementation of the Alliance and Integration Treaty, the partnership relations of our countries will attain a new quality. The Russian Federation will keep supporting and assisting South Ossetia,” Surkov said in this congratulatory message.
Oleg Govorun, the head of the Administration of the Russian President for socio-economic cooperation with the CIS countries, South Ossetia and Abkhazia, also congratulated Leonid Tibilov reaffirming Russia’s comprehensive assistance to South Ossetia in security and social economic development issues. Minister for the North Caucasus Lev Kuznetsov also addressed Tibilov with a congratulation message hailing South Ossetia’s achievements in restoration of the social and economic development and improvement of the living standards of the population.
EADaily reported earlier that August 26 marked seven years since Russia recognized the sovereignty of the Republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. This day is a state holiday in both the countries.
