People's Artist of the USSR, conductor, pianist, composer, songwriter Raymond Pauls has been ignoring the Laima Vaikule festival in Jurmala for the second year. He explained the reasons for this behavior to the Paragraph portal.
"Why do I need such shocks at the age of 90? I won't even watch her festival on the record. I'm not interested in that. I'm doing other things," said Pauls.
He also joked that such events are "a matter for the young."
As reported by EADaily, the Laima Vaikule Laima Rendezvous Jurmala 2024 festival ended on July 28. This year it was attended by Nikolai Trubach, Max Barskikh, Verka Serdyuchka, the Ukrainian ballet Freedom, as well as a lot of Russian foreign relocation agents - Maria Maksakova❶, Andrei Makarevich❶, who was announced as the headliner of the entire festival, Max Pokrovsky❶ and "Leg Cramped", the group "Bi-2", named on the official portal of the Israeli festival, and many others. 45 artists from 14 countries performed in three concerts.
The results of the just completed festival this year have not yet been announced, traditionally the event hosts a fundraiser in support of Ukraine. However, video recordings of the appearance at this gathering of 75-year-old singer Alla Pugacheva in ultrashort shorts, who bowed to the Prima Donna almost at the feet of Serdyuchka (Ukrainian artist Andriy Danilko), as well as Makarevich's performance of the national anthem of Israel, which some of the audience listened to standing, have already been widely distributed.
